Time to Celebrate

Are your students doing anything special for \pi Day? After two months with no significant break, we are going stir crazy. We need a day off — and what better way could we spend it than to play math all afternoon?

    We (a class of seniors enrolled in calculus) celebrated Pi Day and listened to the rap (from one of my former students) at this site http://www.teachpi.org/index.htm and this one http://www.avoision.com/experiments/pi10k/index.php. We also listened to this tune http://www.vvc.edu/ph/TonerS/mathpi.html. This was !
    BTW, I read your blog often, but this is the first time I have left a comment. Thanks for posting so often!

    The celebration of Pi Day is fantastic! I cannot wait until next year to celebrate Pi Day in my school media center. Check it out and have fun learning how pi is a part of our every day lives!
